Proudly Supporting Worcester Community Trust

Brewers Worcester have been supporting
the Worcester Community Trust for the past year with several initiatives that
have greatly benefitted the local community.
Back in 2023, Brewers Worcester supported the
Worcester Community Trust’s Building Block project (a Construction Skills
Training Centre). They reached out to ask to for support with a project they
were working on in conjunction with Regency High School (a local Special
educational Needs School). Together, they were making tables as part of the
White Ribbon awareness campaign to end violence against women and girls that
Brewers Worcester gladly donated paint to.
But that was just the start of the fabulous supportive relationship Brewers Worcester have developed with the Worcester Community Trust!
Worcester Community Trust operates six community
centres across the city, providing local communities with safe, welcoming
spaces to meet. They also provide an array of projects.
They were recently included in the Worcester Towns Fund project, which has seen the refurbishment of foyers in five of their centres, providing lovely new spaces which are more welcoming to members of the public to come in and relax, whilst also providing free digital skills training in them.
However, the rest of the rooms that are regularly
used started to look tired, especially up against the new foyers! This is where
Brewers Worcester stepped in to support again; donating paint to redecorate the
rest of the spaces. Most of the
Worcester Community Trust team rolled up their sleeves and got busy painting
whenever they had some spare time and as a result our buildings look cleaner,
brighter and more welcoming for all!
The Difference This Makes…
Their buildings are situated in the heart of
communities and many of the Trust’s own projects are run from them. Projects that can be life changing for
people, including:
- DAWN, a specialist, confidential, non-judgmental service for individuals experiencing, or who have experienced, domestic abuse.
- Welfare and energy advice E.g., Income and Debt, Council Tax and Housing Benefits, Pension Credits, Energy and Utilities Debt, Energy Efficiency and Home Safety’ Carbon Monoxide Awareness and more.
- Wellbeing Job Clubs and Job Coach Support, supporting people to tackle the barriers they face in applying for jobs i.e. wellbeing, confidence, financial, as well as more formal support such as assistance to write a C.V or application.
- Social activities for children, young people, families and older people E.g., youth clubs and Snack & Chat our over 50s lunch club.
- Professional support and activities to build good mental health and wellbeing. E.g., JOY, their female re-empowerment programme which builds confidence and moves individuals towards training, volunteering, and employment. And Core, our male equivalent.
Their community centres are also available for hire
to community groups, businesses and local people. They provide rooms for dance
and exercise classes, Audiology, NHS, Worcester Children First, a Nursery,
Diabetic Clinics, Action Deafness, parties for the communities, to name but a
few. They can also provide refreshments, table and chair settings etc, so it is
great to have lovely presentable rooms to hire!

charities, and we have to prioritise what we spend our funds on. So, it’s thanks to Brewers and the paint that
they have donated that we have been able to redecorate so many rooms. This has
enabled us to get some great photos ready for the launch of the newly refurbed
Foyers and showcase what we have on offer in order to gain more bookings. We
are a non-profit organisation, so more bookings, means more money can go back
into supporting the local community through our projects.”
