Top tips when painting your bannisters or stairs:
1. Preparation
is key:
If you are
painting on new timber, make sure they are rubbed down and primed with a
suitable primer. Follow the system according to your chosen paint manufacturer
as they will recommend the best primer to use. If you are painting on
previously painted timber, be sure to key the surface. Make sure they are clean
and free from dirt and dust before you begin painting.

2. Choosing
the right finish:
Make sure you choose
a paint finish that is suitable for woodwork. There are many finishes available
at Brewers including; Farrow & Ball Dead Flat, Farrow & Ball Modern
Eggshell, Little Greene Intelligent Eggshell, Benjamin Moore Scuff-X, Dulux
Satinwood and Johnstone’s Aqua Guard…to name just a few! Head into your local
store or speak to one of our Product Specialists to find the right finish for
you.

3. Applying with the right products:
Bannisters can be sprayed or painted. If you’re painting with a brush, make sure you’re using the best brush for the job.
