From Cars to Large Scale Murals, Bobzillustration has Painted it all!

Robert Page of Bobzillustration has been a part of many creative projects during his career as an artist and pops into Brewers when he is working on large-scale murals in and around Newcastle…if you’re a local, you may recognise some of his work!

Robert started creating murals 8 years ago when he discovered his love of street art and hasn’t looked back since!

He works with many organisations to bring bold design and beautiful colour to Newcastle quayside, construction sites and redevelopment areas around the city.

When selecting paint, Robert loves using Albany and Armstead Masonry paint:

They hold their colour for a really long time, so the murals can stay vibrant for as long as possible. The colour choice is also important to me as I incorporate a lot of striking colours into my designs.

Inspiration for each piece comes from organic and natural forms, as well as drawing inspiration from art nouveau pieces. Robert incorporates a lot of line work into his designs which encourages a free-flowing composition. The key to each piece is harmony.

Robert has also painted his designs onto some unique cars! This requires specialist spray paint to ensure he has the right level of control when working with a completely different surface.

When asked what his favourite surface to paint on was he said “Anything flat with the least amount of logistics! I have had projects in the past involving shop shutters and even a crane, which was a bit of a challenge. I much prefer to work on stucco or nicely prepared walls

I think our painter and decorator readers can certainly agree with that!
