Mansfield Park, Osborne & Little's Latest Botanical Inspired Collection

May 28th, 2020
This collection of decorative wallcoverings, offers a modern take on the quintessential English country house, its gardens and surrounding countryside.
“We are often asked, ‘where do you get your ideas from?’ Designers are like magpies, constantly on the lookout for that shiny spark of an idea. We never start with a blank sheet of paper because ideas are constantly forming and shared in the studio. This season we felt there was a mood of nostalgia in the zeitgeist; vintage finds and well crafted pieces, and the trend for indoor plant collections, all provided sources of inspiration for our theme and individual designs.”
Johanna Bright, Head of Design
Osborne & Little’s Mansfield Park collection, available at your local Brewers Decorator Centre, began with a studio trip to the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, to explore the Arboretum and beautiful Victorian glasshouses, home to a wonderful variety of plants from around the world.
The ‘Palm House’ wallpaper (pictured above and in the gallery below) was inspired by its namesake at Kew. A stunning mural design as is the ‘Sylvania’ pattern on the previous page with its whimsical woodland scene with a carpet of ferns, bluebells, wild tulips and toadstools.
The collection also contains a range of traditional wallpaper designs including ‘Medlar’, a stripe created with leaves and the pretty blossom and fruits of the medlar tree; ‘Follies’ a more conversational print with gazebos, garden ornaments, espalier fruit trees, stone balustrades and tiled terraces and ‘Cranes’ an elegant Oriental inspired bird design and the enchanting ‘Netherfield’ with its leafy branches, and nestling garden birds.
The collection takes its name from the novel by Jane Austen.
