Problem
Blistering or sometimes referred to as "bubbling" is when the top coat detaches from the coats beneath. This may occur suddenly or over a period of time. This problem in virtually impossible to predict. It is most likely to occur on a moist surface that was not completely dry at the time of decorating possibly due to rain around the time of painting, or excess humidity etc.
Stages
Stage 1 - Preparation
Remove all loose and defective paint.
Feather out all edges of the defective paint work to a smooth edge.
Remove all dust and ensure the repair is sound and clean.
Spot prime all bare repaired areas with an appropriate primer.
Stage 2 - Basecoat
Bring forward the primed areas with one "or" two coats of undercoat depending on "depth" of repaired area allowing the recommended drying times between coats. Allow to dry fully.
Stage 3 - Topcoat
Apply two coats of a suitable gloss in accordance with the manufactures instructions.
