Problem Solver - Painting Creosote

Problem

Over coating of traditional coal tar based treatments such as Creosote can result in bleeding. In order to successfully paint the surface the creosote should ideally be weathered.


Stages

Stage 1 - Preparation

Make sure the surface is clean and any surface dust and debris is removed.


Stage 2 - Basecoat

Apply 2 coats of a suitable stain blocking primer to the surface.


Stage 3 - Topcoat

Apply 2 coats of a suitable protective timber coating in your choice of colour.
