Fiberglass is a type of fiber reinforced plastic where the reinforcement fiber is specifically glass fiber. The glass fiber may be randomly arranged, flattened into a sheet (called a chopped strand mat), or woven into a fabric.
Preparation
Wash surface down with detergent or sugar soap
If any mould or mildew is apparent, treat with a suitable fungicidal solution, rinse again with clean water and allow to dry.
Make good any defective areas to match existing
Sand the surface using a fine wet and dry paper.
Basecoat
Once the surface is clean and all loose material has been removed, treat with a suitable primer and allow to dry.
Apply a suitable undercoat
Topcoat
Apply a suitable topcoat
