Asphalt, also know as Bitumen or pitch, is a Coal/Oil by-product.
Preparation
Make sure the surface is thoroughly clean and dry.
If any mould or mildew is apparent, treat with a suitable fungicidal solution, rinse again with clean water and allow to dry.
Topcoat
If looking to paint the surface - Apply a suitable topcoat to the manufacturers recommendations.
If looking to line mark the surface - Apply a suitable topcoat to the manufacturers recommendations.
